| description | 山丹县位于甘肃省西北部河西走廊中段，地处东经100°41′～101°42′，北纬37°50′～39°03′，是张掖市的东大门，素有“走廊蜂腰”“甘凉咽喉”之称，是古代“丝绸之路”通往西域的必经之地。东靠永昌县，西邻民乐县，西北与甘州区接壤，东南与肃南裕固族自治县皇城区相连，南以祁连山冷龙岭与青海省为界，北过龙首山与内蒙古自治区阿拉善右旗相望。东西宽89 公里，南北长136 公里，总面积5402.43 平方公里。海拔最高点在祁连山冷龙岭为4444 米，最低点在东乐乡西屯沙河为1549 米。属大陆性高寒半干旱 |
