description	武汉美术馆新馆经过十年的筹备，2008年底竣工投入使用。新馆位于武汉三镇最为繁华的中心地段，坐落于汉口南京路、黄石路与中山大道交汇处。其前身是始建于1930年的金城银行大楼，由我国著名建筑师庄俊先生设计，是武汉市保护性优秀历史建筑。2005年，武汉市政府投资2.2亿元，将金城银行改造为武汉美术馆。
